Throughout his adult life, Julian Rowland, known to many as Fuggy Sevant, lived what he believed was the pinnacle of the ‘party’ lifestyle. Fresh out of high school, he dove headfirst into hosting some of America’s largest 18+ club parties and events. These adventures, filled with excitement and surrounded by the best people, seemed to define his existence. However, beneath the surface, Julian's actions often displayed an inherent disregard for righteous living, characterized by casual sex and clandestine affairs.
About a decade ago, Julian made a grave mistake that would alter the course of his life forever, like fate. Through a series of seemingly random events, he had casual, consensual sex with a married woman—a decision he deeply regrets. This act of adultery led to a dramatic and unfortunate turn of events. When the woman's husband might discover their affair, she panicked and falsely claimed that the act was non-consensual, to save face. Over the course of two trials, three depositions, and several sworn statements, her story continuously changed, filled with inconsistencies and omissions.
Despite the lack of concrete evidence against him, Julian was sentenced to 21 years in a maximum-security prison. After nearly a decade of enduring this injustice, his appeal was finally heard. Damning evidence that his ineffective attorney had failed to present during the trial came to light, and the Tribunal of Appellate Judges ruled in Julian’s favor. The State appealed, and the case reached the Supreme Court of the United States, where his sentence was ultimately vacated.

Despite the numerous legal battles, and the Prosecution's reliance on a series of delays, Julian’s resilience never wavered. While awaiting a third trial, which he was confident of winning, a prominent attorney offered to take his case pro bono. However, further delays ensued, including the retirement of his judge, and the need for additional details from the state about his Prosecutor’s offer to drop the charges, under certain conditions, for instance that Julian's parents would be required to relinquish their custodial rights. The Prosecutor then evaded contact regarding his offer from Julian's attorney for over a year, and a half. This, when the validity of the complaining witness's mental state was called into question, after she attacked her father with a weapon, when he would not give her his prescription medication.
In the midst of these struggles, Julian faced another personal challenge—his father was involved in a severe car accident, sustaining a broken neck. Julian was forced to choose between enduring more years of legal battles or spending precious time with his family. He opted to take an Alford Plea, maintaining his innocence while accepting the possibility of legal consequences. This decision allowed him to be with his father during the last year, and a half, of his life, a period that included an unforgettable cross-country road trip. This time was the best of Julian's life, who's newfound sense of freedom reinforced his faith, and revealed the true meaning of grace and redemption.
During his wrongful incarceration, Julian spent his time in meditation, channeling creativity, and practicing patience. His experiences profoundly shaped him, leading him to embrace faith and redemption. As a follower of Christ, Julian found strength and hope in God's grace, dedicating himself to a life of integrity and purpose. For the past decade, he practiced abstinence, viewing his journey as a path to a deeper understanding of life’s mysteries and preparing himself for a meaningful relationship.
